About Gerrick D. Kennedy Gerrick D. Kennedy is a reporter, blogger, pop culture expert, avid tv watcher, music head, film buff, and aspiring wine and beer snob. Born and raised in Ohio he is an unashamed Midwest boy and no matter how much California tries to make him forget, there is nothing like cold white snow in the winter, the smell of fresh rain and cut grass in the spring and the crunching brown, yellow and orange leaves that fall to the ground in autumn. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in of Arts in Journalism from The Ohio State University in 2009. As a staff writer for The Los Angeles Times, he is a blogger and reporter. He contributes to numerous blogs covering music, television and online trends. He is an award winning journalist and previously served as the editor, managing editor and Arts & Life editor of The Lantern, OSU's student newspaper. He has previously interned at the State Journal in Lansing, Mich., and The Advocate in Newark, Ohio, is a graduate of The New York Times Student Institute and worked as a contributing writer for Monarch Magazine and College News. He chronicles life as a twentysomething post-grad in his personal blog, Gerrickwood. In his spare time he teaches online journalism to high school teens and is working on his first book – a memoir. Gerrick currently resides in Los Angeles. |
